Alex Naraian PCIAT has been inaugurated as the 28th President of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). Alex is an Associate Director at Ascot Design and has been an active Member within the Institute.
The new President received the Chain of Office at the close of the Institute’s AGM held in Newcastle on 18 November. He holds office for the next two years and among his core objectives are to continue leading and setting trends in the industry in the field of Architectural Technology.
Speaking of his appointment, Alex said: ‘I am honoured and privileged to take on the role of President of an Institute that I am very passionate about and for a profession for which I hold immense pride. My vision is to focus on identity, presence and growth to evolve the Institute further, working to our 2018-2013 Strategic Plan, to be launched next year. Architectural Technology, as the technology of architecture, is an exciting discipline to be working within and I can’t wait to represent my fellow members as President, as we head towards a new decade. ’
The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) is the lead qualifying body for Architectural Technology and represents those practising and studying within the discipline. CIAT qualifies Chartered Architectural Technologists, MCIAT, and professionally qualified Architectural Technicians, TCIAT.
